One of the many attractions that brings seasonal residents to the Valley is the close connection between civilization and nature that exists in the region. However, that desire for a nat­ural connection with the local wildlife can often unintention­ally go wrong when humans feed wildlife, particularly deer. Local Department of Wildlife Officer Justin Krall reached out to the Tribune to share some of his concerns about human and wildlife feedings. “Last month, I picked up four dead deer in and around the town of Westcliffe that I suspect died from causes that come from feeding the deer in town.
