Live comedy performance runs for the next two weekends at the Jones

The Westcliffe Center for the Performing Arts (WCPA) will be opening its 31st season of live theater on Friday, April 21, with its spring production, Picasso at the Lapin Agile, written by comedian Steve Martin.  Martin’s play, first produced in 1993, poses the hypothetical question: What if Pablo Picasso had met Albert Einstein…at the fabled Parisian cafe, Le Lapin Agile… at the dawn of the 20 century? 1904, to be precise. Picasso at the Lapin Agile provides a plethora of answers to that question, ranging from salacious to sagacious, comic to cosmic, and back again, in a fast-paced, intellectually stimulating farce.  The WCPA production is directed by McKenzie Huffman, and stars veteran members of the WCPA Players as well as newcomers.
