On Monday, District Court Judge Lauren Swan spent an hour detailing the ongoing misconduct and “A lack of candor” to the court (lack of candor means failing to be completely honest, open, or fully forthcoming, it is often described as dishonesty by omission) by the 11th Judicial District Attorney Jeff Lindsey and his staff over the past year and a half since Lindsey took office in November of 2024. Judge Swan’s detailed oral opinion and order were brought on by motions filed by the defense attorney for Toni Gurule.  Gurule, along with co-defendants Suzzette Salyer and Anthony Fogle, were indicted by a grand jury in April 2024 for the shooting deaths of 25-year-old Ryan Roth and 36-year-old Rodolfo Santillan-Reyes in Cañon City.
