Former District Attorney Linda Stanley had a legal career that was constantly under threat because she failed to respond to or file paperwork with the courts and others correctly. Once again, Stanley failed to respond to a lawsuit that was filed by Custer, Fremont, and Chaffee Counties that claimed she had misspent public funds and that she owed that money to the taxpayers in the 11th Judicial District. “The people are owed this money, and we aim to get it back,” Fremont County Commissioner Kevin Grantham stated in January.
