Former student and resident Eli Hedberg started a bike team to raise funds for and Awareness of the Childrenās Hospital Colorado by riding in the Courage Classic.
Now he needs people to ride for, donate to, and sponsor the team to meet the mission. His goal is at least 25 riders and $25,000 raised in the first year of āRiding to the Peak.ā He would love it if teens would join in to help an organization that was designed just for them, but any age can participate because we all benefit from Childrenās Hospital in our community.
Eli is a deanās list freshman at Peak to Peak Charter School in Lafayette, Colorado, where he runs cross country in the Fall and rides for the Boulder Junior Cycling Team in the Spring. A first-time rider in last yearās Courage Classic, he covered 160 miles and gained over 11,000 vertical feet during the eventās weekend. He was so inspired by the experience, impressed by the Childrenās Hospital professionals he met, and pleasantly surprised that his time spent earned him community volunteering credits, that he decided to form a team. He wins, his teammates win, the community wins, and Childrenās Hospital wins!
All the funds raised will go to a department at Childrenās Hospital Colorado that supports the most severely impacted patients and their families on the journey forward. The Palliative Medicine Team provides comprehensive care for patients living with serious illness, with the goal of relieving patient suffering and improving overall quality of life.
Please join Eli in his efforts to support a great department in an amazing organization that makes our community a better place to live.
