Beloved Legion Post 170 Officer Bob Dreher passes

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Robert ā€œBobā€ Edward Dreher, who departed this life on November 9 in Pueblo, Colorado. Bob was born on June 15, 1945, in Denver, Colorado, and throughout his life touched the lives of all who knew him.

Bob served his country in the United States Air Force Reserve for 23 years, retiring as a Lt. Colonel. He also worked for J.C. Penney for 38 years, serving as a District Manager and Store Manager of 4 stores, and receiving the CEO award. Bob further fulfilled the responsibility of multiple offices while being a member of the American Legion – Post 170 for 24 years. Bob was awarded the Legionnaire of the Year Award in 2008 for his leadership and outstanding service. His love of God led him to the Catholic Church. He served on several church committees and was a member of the Knights of Columbus, and he was a member of Our Lady of the Assumption Catholic Church for 25 years.

Bob will be remembered for his boundless generosity, unwavering kindness, and remarkable spirit. He devoted himself to his family, friends, and community, always willing to lend a helping hand to those who needed it and doing so with a smile. Bob’s final act of selflessness was his decision to donate his body to science. Bob was a true leader, mentor, friend, husband, father, and grandfather. Whether volunteering at local organizations, supporting loved ones, or simply brightening the day with their presence, Bob’s legacy is woven with acts of love and service.

Bob was preceded in death by his father, Robert Oswald Dreher; mother, Pauline Dreher; Sister, Mary Lynne Realph; and brother, Mark Dreher.

Bob is survived by his wife, Carol Kennedy; three sons, Kevin, Brian and Paul; and grandchildren, Jaeger, Debra, Hannah, Holly, and Heidi, as well as extended relatives and countless friends. His memory will be cherished and honored by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Though we mourn the loss of Robert ā€œBobā€ Edward Dreher, we take comfort in the enduring impact of his love, wisdom, and compassion. His spirit will forever live on in our memories and hearts.

A Catholic Mass at Our Lady of the Assumption Roman Catholic Church in Westcliffe and internment

at Pikes Peak National Veterans Cemetery in Colorado Springs will be held at a future date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to The American Legion Post 170, P.O.Box 424, Westcliffe, CO 81252
