āBuilding a Brighter Futureā is not only a mission taken on by the VALI assisted living Board of Directors, but also the name of a challenge campaign that opens tomorrow. VALI has served Valley seniors for a quarter century, both through the 14-room resident facility in Silver Cliff, and through in-home care for seniors preferring to remain in their own homes, but needing assistance.
VALI is one of the very few non-profit senior facilities in the state, and the only one in southern Colorado. Now in its 26th year of operation, VALI is not funded through any organization and has relied on donations and grants to maintain its senior services, staffed with 24 employees dedicated to quality care. Keeping a healthy financial status has become increasingly difficult as operational and building maintenance costs steadily rise.
The good news, though, is that a local family foundation has anonymously committed $10,000 to VALI, provided VALI can meet the challenge of matching that gift. The Board of Directors has taken up the challenge, making it clear to donors that during the āBuilding a Brighter Futureā campaign, every dollar is immediately doubled in impact on moving forward with services in a well-maintained facility. As the campaign literature notes, āVALI has served the seniors of the Wet Mountain Valley for decades, and we want to be here to serve you and your loved ones for many more decades to come. Join us, and together as a community, letās rise to the challenge!ā
Donations to the āBuilding a Brighter Futureā campaign can be made online at https://givebutter.com/VALIBrightFutureChallenge, at Kirkpatrick Bank on Bassick Place where deposits can be made to the VALI Fundraiser Account, or by mailing or dropping off a check at VALI, 30 East Main Street, Silver Cliff, noting in the memo that the amount is for the Challenge Fundraiser.
Campaign posters and flyers are being widely distributed throughout the community, and VALI intends to post a challenge campaign thermometer tracker prominently on Main Street.
Readers can participate early in the campaign by going right now to the givebutter.com site noted above. Thank you!
