A remembrance gathering for Bernard G. Hutterer, who passed away on March 14, will be held on Saturday, June 28, in Silver Cliff.
Bernie lived in the Valley for 49 years. He developed quite a reputation as a fine woodworker and craftsman. He was an avid fly fisherman and hiked up to the high mountain lakes every chance he got.
âBernie Dayâ will start at 9 a.m. with a hike up Swift Creek to distribute ashes at the beaver ponds, as was his wish. It is about a two-mile hike. We will meet at Gibson Creek Trailhead, located up Ute Mesa.
We will proceed slowly to accommodate anyone who wants to join us. Please come prepared for a day in the woods with water and snacks, and always remember to pack it in and pack it out.
At 2 p.m., everyone will converge at the Silver Dome Saloon and Music Hall, 110 Ohio, Silver Cliff, for a potluck, music, and storytelling. All are welcome.
Please get in touch with Mary to coordinate the potluck at 719-269-0783.
Zachary Taylor will lead a drum circle at the Dome at 2 p.m. to welcome everyone as they arrive. Zach will provide extra drums and percussion instruments. Terra Raye will accompany her with her flute and singing. Please bring drums and rhythm instruments and join the circle of peace and love.
