And improv â as in, âimprovisational performanceâ â is coming to the Jones Theater the following weekend! On Saturday, January 20, The RiP Improv Troupe from Denver is presenting an improv show at 7 p.m. As they informed us, âThe RiP has created unscripted laughs together for over 18 years and present short-form, long-form, and musical improvisational comedy that is sure to have you laughing until you cry! No two shows are ever the same, so be prepared for an off-the-cuff, top-of-the-head, tip-of-the-tongue experience.â Tickets are available online at https://jonestheater.com/tc-events/the-rip-improv-comedy/, by calling 719-783-3004, or at the door. The cost is $20.
The RiP will also present an improv workshop on Saturday, January 20, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the theater. âWelcome to the world of improv comedy!â says RiP Creative Director Kaleb Kohart. âNo experience? No problem! In this intro workshop, weâll dive into the basics of improv, focusing on âyes, and…â â the key to spontaneous creativity. Through fun games and exercises, youâll learn to build scenes, support your peers, and embrace the unexpected. Whether youâre a seasoned performer or a total beginner, join us for a laughter-filled session where the only rule is to have a blast! See you on the stage!â
The workshop is $25 for three hoursâsuch a deal! Participation is limited to 12 and weâve already got people signed up, so donât delay if you are interested! Call 719-783-3004 or email wcpa@jonestheather.com for more information.
