On Wednesday morning, October 20 local residents reported that at least ten outside law enforcement vehicles drove into Custer County. By midday, several groups of State Patrol officers and Fremont County Sheriff deputies along with Custer County Sheriff’s Office deputies were pulling over drivers across the two towns of Westcliffe and Silver Cliff.
At 11 a.m. Custer County Undersheriff Robert Hill stated on a social media post that, “several agencies from our judicial district are participating in a cooperative operation and training. We, Custer County SO, then go to their jurisdiction to assist them.”
As of Wednesday afternoon, no other information was available.
