5/17/2018 As graduation draws near, CCHS Seniors finish classes today
Although today is the last day of school for Pre-School in the district schools, the day is really all about the other end of the student spectrum: this is check out day for graduating seniors. Yesterday seniors began their final exams, and finished them up this morning. Checking out, emptying lockers, and saying goodbye to the hallways are the first steps toward commencement of a new post-secondary education life. A week from today, May 24, is another of those steps, as the soon-to-be graduates gather for their Senior Night Potluck and Senior Video in the Multi-Purpose Room and West Gym at 6 p.m. The following day, at 1 p.m., mandatory graduation rehearsal convenes in the East Gym. That evening, May 25, the Senior Baccalaureate service will be held from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Valley Bible Fellowship, 116 Hermit Lane, Silver Cliff. Sunday, May 27 is the big day: Graduation. At 12:30 p.m., a studio photographer will take a picture of the entire senior class in their caps and gowns in the Multi-Purpose Room. Then the graduates will remain as a class until they line up for the processional at 1:30 in the high school. At 2 p.m., the Graduation Ceremony begins in the West Gym. Please check the school calendar at custercountyschools.org (Calendar tab on left) for any changes or updates in all events related to the end of the school year for all district students. – W.A.
