8/10/2017 Curtain rises this week on kids’ “The Elves and the Shoemaker”
If the buzz and excitement at dress rehearsal on Tuesday evening was any indication, audiences are in for a very energized production of the children’s theater classic, “The Elves and the Shoemaker—The Musical” this week. Performances begin this evening at 7 p.m. at the historic Jones Theater, and run Friday and Saturday evenings August 11 and 12 as well at 7 p.m., concluding with a Sunday matinee, August 13 at 2 p.m. Directed by Custer County High School students Michael Batson and Holly Wenger, the cast includes the following talented local children: Matilda Cobblestone is played by Lydia Parmer; Lockhart Cobblestone by Ben Stafford; Sneerella Twerm by Laurel Zeller; Old Lady/Princess by Audrey Heckmann; Mortz by Angelina Posadas; Schwartz by Mason Simmons; Hansel by Sam Parmer; Gracie by Brynlee Gerber; Studebaker by Tyler Heckmann; Mrs. Snootbottom by Cadence Weeks; Mayor Clankbattle by Colt Moulton; Loretta Le Pointe by Sarah Clince; Widow Perkins by Olivia Heisig; Zoom Corrigan by Jacob Weeks; and the Chorus includes Justus Simmons, Sieber Simmons, and Lili Kozlowski. Admission is $15 for adults, and $5 for kids 12 and under. The production is included in the season ticket holders’ package.
